Gallus has recently introduced the DCS 340, a digital label printing machine, at Gallus Innovation Days and is preparing for a market launch at Labelexpo 2015. In addition, Gallus will reinforce the team responsible for this digital converting system. That will entail the recruitment of more specialist and management staff with expertise in digital printing.

The Gallus team realizes that there is more to organizational success than a successful printing press system. The company will proceed with the same energy that it used in developing a fully functional digital printing machine system in this joint project in the space of 12 months.

“The digital world moves much faster than the conventional one,” says Stefan Heiniger, COO of the Labels division at Gallus. “To ensure that we live up to our goal of ‘success and security for the labelprinter’ in digital label printing, too, we are going to boost both our staff and our expertise in this area.”

Additional staff is being sought for building up sales and service for the digital label printing machine. The company is also looking to build up a pool of experts with wide-ranging prepress knowledge in systems and application support.

“Besides needing a first-class product, the success of a mechanical engineering company greatly depends on the competence shown in sales and service when dealing with customers,” adds Heiniger. Outstanding customer service is incredibly important – particularly for a technology that changes as rapidly as high resolution inkjet printing. We will ensure that our customers can operate the Gallus DCS 340 really profitably and can open up new business potential using this digital printing press system.”

A joint service network for digital printing is also being built up with Heidelberger Druckmachinen AG.
